Afghanistan shaken by a devastating earthquake .
A powerful earthquake struck Afghanistan early Monday morning.
The United States Geological Survey reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was near the large Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif, which is the most populous city in Afghanistan.
A powerful earthquake has already reduced several parts of Afghanistan’s large city of Mazar-i-Sharif to rubble. Many people are trapped, many have died. The number of injured is around 320.
According to statistics from Samim Jawanda, spokesman for the Samangan Provincial Health Department in Afghanistan, a total of 150 people were injured and 7 were killed.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake was felt in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan and parts of India.
