According to a report in Anandabazar, a central official was caught red-handed while accepting bribe for road construction work. The central official was arrested on Friday.
Intelligence has revealed that the official had taken a bribe of 10 lakh rupees for road construction work.
The CBI has started an investigation into the arrest of the man from the National Highway in Guwahati on Friday and the discovery of a large amount of property after his arrest.

- CBI has received information from confidential sources that the name of the central officer is Riten Kumar Singh.
- A total of 2 crore 62 lakh rupees was recovered from that person.
- In addition, some unaccounted documents and some important papers have been seized. Documents related to the ownership of some large properties have also been found.
Land ownership documents:
- The CBI investigation reveals that the documents recovered regarding the “land ownership” of the central official are documents related to the ownership of various large lands in the country.
- Among them, there are documents for the construction of a total of 9 large residential buildings, one office and three houses in Delhi and Bangalore.
