The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in states along the east and south coast of India on Sunday due to a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal.
Cyclone Mantha is expected to make landfall in Andhra Pradesh overnight. Cyclone Mantha is expected to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm when it makes landfall.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the depression in the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm “Mantha”. The cyclone is likely to hit the Andhra Pradesh coast on the evening or night of October 28.
The cyclone is likely to enter Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam near Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh with wind speeds of 90 to 100 kmph and winds will reach 110 kmph. The Meteorological Department has issued red warnings for 16 states.
