For the first time, 89 km of railway tracks in West Bengal are going to be connected between the two countries. The first train is between India and Bhutan.

India – Bhutan on the railway route in West Bengal:-
This new railway project was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Indian Foreign Secretary Bikram Mishra said that the work on the railway between India and Bhutan will start very soon. The two countries are going to be connected by 89 km. of railway track.
This project will cost = 4033 cror. It will take three to four years. If India and Bhutan are connected by railway, the communication system between the two countries will be further improved, the cost will be less. The tourism industry will improve. If this project is successful, a new chapter can be written between the two countries.
India – Bhutan Railway:-

This new step by the Centre is to improve trade and commerce between the two countries and strengthen India’s relations with Bhutan. The distance between India and Bhutan is about 89 kilometers. It will take about three to four years to complete the railway work between the two countries.
Work on two rail projects will begin on the India-Bhutan railway line. One of the 89-kilometer-long line projects will be from West Bengal and the other from Assam.
The first is from Banarhat in West Bengal to Samtse in Bhutan. The second is from Konkrajhar in Assam to Gelephur in Bhutan. There will be two stations on the railway line from Banarhat in West Bengal to Samtse in Bhutan.
India – Bhutan :-
One large flyover, 24 small flyovers and 37 underground passages will be constructed. On the other hand, on the route from Konkrajhar in Assam to Gelephu in Bhutan, one flyover, two high bridges, 29 large bridges and 65 small bridges will be constructed.
The railway project agreement with Bhutan was signed last year and Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the project during his visit to Bhutan last year.
89 k.m. Railway Project :-
During his visit to India on Monday, Bhutan’s foreign secretary only sealed the letter signed for this railway project.
All imports and exports of Bhutan are handled through Indian ports. In short, India is Bhutan’s largest trading partner.
If this project is successful, Bhutan’s economy will progress rapidly. India’s trade with Bhutan will become easier.
